Plain-form verb or i-adjective + 反面; na-adjective + な/である + 反面; noun + である + 反面.
Explanation
Contrast two sides of the same thing or situation, often an advantage and a disadvantage. It does not merely connect any unrelated opposing events. It can also express coexisting mixed feelings.
Examples
この町は静かな反面、買い物には少し不便です。
This town is quiet, but shopping is somewhat inconvenient.
一人暮らしは自由な反面、家事を全部自分でしなければなりません。
Living alone offers freedom, but you have to do all the housework yourself.

How related patterns differ
ながらも and つつも express contrast, while ながら and つつ also have separate simultaneous-action uses. 反面 contrasts two aspects of one thing; に反して means contrary to expectations or rules. にかかわらず means the result does not depend on a condition.
