Explanation
Treats the first item as obvious before adding another, often with も or まで.

How related patterns differ
はともかく and は抜きにして set an element aside. Conjunctive もっとも adds a qualification and differs from the adverb 最も, most. はもとより and さらに generally add information rather than setting it aside.
